For those who respect the English language.

  1. I like your list of typographic sins. Reminds me of a book written 20+ years ago titled "The Mac is not a typewriter." There were several sins brought forward from the generation that learned to type on monospaced typewriters.

Of course, these comments are not typeset. So forgive me for putting two line returns between paragraphs. A lot of people do that in Word. I'll guess they aren't using styles to do their work for them.

    1. That's really fascinating. I'd like to read that book.

  2. I have committed a few of those typographic sins, but mostly I am writing to tell you that I have just recovered from swooning over the "Pride and Prejudice meets Hey Girl" meme.

    1. Right?? I may have squealed like a teenybopper when I saw that.

  3. Oh, the coughing-up-blood one is funny. Is that what's happening to you during class breaks when you run to the bathroom? :)

And of course, Colin Firth HAD to be in that meme. Now I truly understand the importance of reading extensively.

I liked the rule about using accents. We don't have many (or any?) in English, except for those "imported" words in our language. However, I can imagine that this rule is extremely important for other languages--I think of Italian, Spanish, French...and that can't be all. But on that note...wouldn't it be interesting if we used more accents in English?

    Thanks for the pictorial post!

    1. That is exactly what's happening to me during class breaks, Shelley. :) It's also partially to avoid homicide.

      Ugh, right? Drooool.

That would be fun...let's add some. If "google" and "bling" can make it into the OED, we can add some freakin' accents.

      Thanks for loving it!
