I agree with Christine, that your podcast made me feel a bit nostalgic.

It makes me wonder about how students of today (our 21st century learners!) will feel when they get to hold their new-fangled techie "chalk" in their hands, and what they will feel nostalgic about when they reach our age.

And then...thinking about my experiences of figuring out that aspect of my identity in direct relation to my handwriting, I wonder what students will do when going through this process, if they are using tablets and a stylus? Will there even be a pen vs. pencil preference??? (I am ALL about the pens!)

One more thing...the legendary Anne Shirley slate! I have to add that to your list of nostalgic chalkboard experiences (though this particular one proved to be effective for matchmaking purposes).Shelleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10419860873040455812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019239897562656385.post-9783886031409992892012-08-06T16:37:58.549-07:002012-08-06T16:37:58.549-07:00I really enjoyed your podcast, Saskia. I think you make the point that teaching can be done without fancy technologies, and that is something I think can be easy to forget. The true art of teaching lies not within the tools the teacher uses. Lovely thoughts.Tinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12863462463359527027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019239897562656385.post-42591158592542210762012-08-04T21:09:10.107-07:002012-08-04T21:09:10.107-07:00No wonder you liked the sound of chalk in the Soci...No wonder you liked the sound of chalk in the Social Work room! :)Kristinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16662491469737183823noreply@blogger.com
